ZSW Series Vibrating Grizzly Feeder for Primary Feeding and Pre-Screening

Heavy-duty vibrating grizzly feeder designed for primary feeding and pre-screening. Uniform feeding, strong impact resistance, reduced crusher load, and improved efficiency for mining and aggregate plants.

    ZSW Series Vibrating Grizzly Feeder

The ZSW Series Vibrating Grizzly Feeder is a heavy-duty feeding and pre-screening device installed at the very front of crushing and screening production lines. It is designed to handle raw, unscreened, and high-impact materials under demanding operating conditions. With its distinctive grizzly bar deck and reinforced trough structure, the ZSW Series combines material feeding and pre-screening into a single, highly efficient unit.

This equipment not only delivers large and heavy materials to the primary crusher in a uniform and continuous manner, but also separates fine particles, soil, and undersize materials in advance through the gaps between the grizzly bars. By removing unnecessary fines before crushing, the ZSW Series significantly improves primary crusher efficiency, reduces power consumption, minimizes over-crushing, and lowers wear on crusher liners. It plays a critical role in optimizing the entire coarse crushing process when handling blasted ore, run-of-mine material, or natural raw materials containing a high proportion of soil and fines.

    Main Structure and Components

    Feeding Trough

The feeding trough is manufactured from heavy-duty steel plates and structural sections welded into a rigid body. It is designed to withstand continuous high-impact loading from large rocks and blasted materials, ensuring long-term durability and structural stability.

    Grizzly Bar Deck

The grizzly bar deck is the defining feature that distinguishes this feeder from conventional vibrating feeders. It consists of a set of parallel-arranged wear-resistant steel bars with uniform and adjustable gaps. The bar spacing can be optimized according to material size distribution and pre-screening requirements, allowing fine materials and soil to pass through while retaining oversized rocks for primary crushing.

    Vibration System

The vibration system serves as the power source of the equipment and is available in two main configurations:

    Vibrating Motor Type
Two counter-rotating vibration motors are mounted on both sides of the trough to generate linear vibration force. This configuration features simple structure, easy maintenance, and stable operation.

    Eccentric Shaft Type (Mechanical Drive)
Vibration is generated by a shaft with eccentric weights driven by an electric motor. This system provides stronger excitation force and is suitable for extremely heavy-duty and high-capacity applications.

    Supporting and Damping System

The entire feeder is supported by spring systems, including steel springs or rubber springs. These components support the equipment weight while effectively isolating vibration from the foundation, reducing dynamic loads on civil structures.

    Transmission System

For eccentric shaft type feeders, the transmission system includes an electric motor, V-belts, bearings, and drive shaft assemblies, ensuring reliable power transmission under heavy loads.

    Application Industries

    Mining Industry

Applied in both metallic and non-metallic mining operations. Installed in front of primary crushers to process blasted run-of-mine ore, separating fines and soil to reduce crusher load and improve feed quality.

    Sand and Aggregate Industry

Used in natural aggregate production where raw materials extracted from riverbeds or quarries often contain a high proportion of sand and soil. The grizzly feeder effectively removes fines before crushing.

    Hard Rock Crushing

In granite, basalt, and other hard rock crushing applications, the feeder separates blasting fines and stone powder, improving crushing efficiency and product quality.

    Construction and Demolition Waste Recycling

Used to feed demolition waste while separating soil, broken bricks, and fine debris, enabling preliminary classification.

    Coal Industry

Applied for raw coal feeding and screening, separating gangue, fines, and small coal particles before crushing or further processing.

    Applicable Materials

Suitable for almost all loose and block materials, especially raw, unscreened materials with high soil content or moderate moisture.

    Performance Advantages and Features

    Dual Function: Feeding and Pre-Screening

The ZSW Series integrates feeding and pre-screening into one machine, simplifying process layouts, reducing equipment investment, and saving installation space.

Improved Primary Crusher Efficiency and Reduced Costs

By removing qualified fines in advance, unnecessary over-crushing inside the crusher is avoided. This reduces energy consumption, liner wear, and increases effective crusher capacity.

Robust Structure and High Impact Resistance

The heavy-duty trough and grizzly bar design can withstand direct impact from large rocks falling from height, offering superior durability compared to light-duty feeders.

    Uniform and Stable Feeding

Ensures that downstream crushers receive consistent and controlled material flow, preventing uneven wear, overload, and production fluctuations.

Strong Adaptability and Low Blockage Risk

Large bar spacing provides better material passability for wet and sticky materials compared to enclosed feeders or apron feeders, reducing blockage risks.
