Sprocket Module

The sprocket module is a key transmission component in scraper conveying systems, widely used in underground coal mine scraper conveyors and beam stageloaders. It engages with the conveyor chain to drive the scraper system, ensuring continuous and stable material transport.

Scraper Conveyors

The module is installed in the front opening of the head frame and secured in position using locating pins and pressure blocks. Its structure typically includes a sprocket body, main shaft, bearing housings, rolling bearings, seals, cover plates, oil seals, and oil plugs. Some models feature an integrated lubrication system for centralized oil supply and easy maintenance. The sprocket is connected to the shaft via a rectangular spline, enabling efficient torque transmission.

Beam Stage loaders

The sprocket is forged from high-strength alloy steel and undergoes surface quenching to achieve excellent wear resistance and impact strength. It is engineered to perform reliably in harsh underground environments with high humidity, dust, and heavy loads. The bearing section adopts double-row spherical cylindrical roller bearings, offering high load capacity and long service life.

Sprocket ModuleWe offer both welded and forged sprocket constructions, with customizable parameters such as tooth number, tooth profile, and shaft length to match different chain specifications (e.g., 18×64, 22×86). The module is compatible with various scraper conveyors and reloading machines, and integrates efficiently with gearboxes and couplings.

The sprocket module is designed for easy disassembly and maintenance. An optional centralized oil tank can be installed on the side plate of the head frame for continuous gear lubrication, improving reliability and ease of service. Our sprocket modules have been widely applied in coal mines, metal mines, and processing systems, earning positive feedback from customers worldwide.

In actual operation, the sprocket module functions as the central driving unit of the scraper conveyor system. Once the reducer outputs torque to the sprocket shaft, the power is transmitted through the rectangular spline connection to the sprocket body, which drives the chain and scraper system forward. The synchronized engagement between the sprocket teeth and the chain links ensures low slippage and efficient transmission, even under fluctuating loads. The precise machining of each component helps minimize vibration and noise, improving overall system stability and service life.

Scraper ConveyorsRegular maintenance of the sprocket module is essential to ensure long-term reliability. Key maintenance tasks include monitoring lubrication levels, checking bearing temperature, inspecting tooth wear and chain engagement, and tightening locating bolts and locking plates. For systems equipped with centralized oil tanks, gear oil should be replaced periodically based on working hours and operating conditions. Sprocket modules with forged or quenched teeth typically have longer wear life, but preventive inspection should still be scheduled to detect early-stage failure, such as pitting or misalignment. Easy disassembly design allows quick replacement of worn components without removing the entire head frame, significantly reducing downtime.
