PC Series Hammer Crusher
The PC Series Hammer Crusher is a proven crushing solution developed by Farvista Mining Equipment in response to practical market demands and long-term operating experience. It is specifically designed for single-stage crushing of medium and low hardness, brittle materials, providing a simple, efficient, and cost-effective alternative to traditional multi-stage crushing systems.
With its high reduction ratio, compact structure, and ease of operation and maintenance, the PC Series Hammer Crusher has become a classic choice in industries where simplified process flows and stable production are prioritized. By utilizing a single crushing stage, large raw materials can be directly reduced to usable product sizes, significantly reducing equipment investment, installation complexity, and overall operating costs.
Working Principle
The PC Series Hammer Crusher operates on a high-speed impact crushing principle. Raw material enters the crushing chamber through the feed opening and is subjected to repeated impact from rapidly rotating hammer heads mounted on the rotor. Under the combined action of impact, shear, and collision, the material is crushed against the hammer heads and the internal liners.
As the material size decreases, it is further ground between the hammer heads and the grate bars installed beneath the rotor. Particles smaller than the grate bar gap are discharged from the crusher, while oversized material remains in the crushing chamber until it reaches the required size.
This continuous impact and screening process enables efficient size reduction and stable product quality in a single crushing stage.

Main Structural Components
The PC Series Hammer Crusher features a straightforward and efficient structure, centered around the rotor assembly:
Crusher Housing
Fabricated from heavy-duty welded steel plates, the housing provides
robust structural support and ensures long-term durability. High-manganese
steel liners are installed on the inner walls to resist impact and abrasion.
The housing is typically divided into upper and lower sections, allowing
convenient inspection and maintenance.
Rotor Assembly
The “heart” of the hammer crusher, consisting of the main shaft, hammer
discs, pins, and hammer heads. Each rotor undergoes precise dynamic balancing
to ensure smooth and stable operation at high rotational speeds.
Hammer Heads
The primary wear and working components, hinged to the hammer discs via
pins. Hammer heads are available in heavy-duty and light-duty configurations,
allowing adaptation to different material sizes and hardness levels.
Grate Bars (Screen Plates)
Installed beneath the rotor, the grate bars control the final product
size. Material smaller than the grate gap is discharged, while larger particles
are retained for further crushing.
Drive System
The rotor is driven by an electric motor through a flexible coupling or
V-belt transmission, providing reliable power transfer and easy maintenance.
Safety Protection System
To protect the crusher from damage caused by uncrushable objects such as
iron pieces, mechanical overload protection devices are incorporated, commonly
through safety sleeves on hammer pins or equivalent mechanisms.
Application Industries
The PC Series Hammer Crusher is widely applied in industries processing medium to low hardness and brittle materials, including:
Cement Industry
Crushing of limestone, marl, shale, and similar raw materials. The
hammer crusher is often a key component in cement production lines due to its
high reduction ratio and stable output.
Building Materials and Aggregate Industry
Production of construction aggregates and combined stone-and-sand
processing flows, particularly suitable for medium hardness rocks.
Coal and Metallurgical Industry
Crushing of coal, coke, and slag materials.
Chemical and Other Industries
Crushing of gypsum, salt, and various chemical raw materials requiring
controlled size reduction.
Applicable Materials
The PC Series Hammer Crusher is suitable for medium and low hardness, brittle materials, such as:
Limestone
Bluestone
Gypsum
Marl
Shale
It is not recommended for crushing high hardness materials (such as granite or basalt), nor for tough or sticky materials, as these conditions may cause excessive wear, blockage, or unstable operation.
Performance Advantages
High Reduction Ratio with Single-Stage Crushing
Capable of achieving reduction ratios exceeding 50:1, allowing large
feed sizes to be crushed directly into fine products and simplifying the
overall process flow.
Simple Structure and Easy Operation
Compact design with clearly arranged components, making operation
intuitive and maintenance straightforward.
Controlled Product Size and Good Particle Shape
Product size can be adjusted by changing grate bar specifications. The
resulting aggregates typically exhibit cubic particle shapes, superior to jaw
crusher products.
High Productivity and Relatively Low Energy
Consumption
Continuous impact crushing ensures high throughput, with lower energy
consumption compared to traditional multi-stage crushing systems.
