    The VB Series Vertical Shaft Impact Crusher (VSI Crusher)is a high-efficiency fine crushing and shaping machine specifically designed for artificial sand production and aggregate optimization. It plays a critical role in modern aggregate processing lines, where high-quality particle shape, consistent grading, and controlled fines content are essential for concrete, asphalt, and prefabricated construction materials.

    Unlike conventional crushing equipment that relies mainly on compressive force, the VB Series VSI Crusher utilizes high-speed impact energygenerated by a vertically mounted rotor. Materials are accelerated to high velocity and discharged into the crushing chamber, where size reduction and shaping are achieved through material-to-material (“rock-on-rock”) or material-to-wear-part (“rock-on-iron”) impact. This crushing mechanism enables superior control over final particle morphology while maintaining high throughput and operational stability.

    Working Principle

    At the core of the VB Series VSI Crusher is a high-speed vertical rotor assembly, which functions as the energy conversion center of the machine. Raw material enters the crusher through the feed system and is guided into the rotor. Under centrifugal force, the material is rapidly accelerated along the rotor channels and thrown outward into the crushing chamber.

    Depending on the selected operating mode, crushing occurs through:

    Rock-on-Rock crushing, where material particles collide with each other inside a dense material bed, resulting in excellent particle shape and reduced wear cost.

    Rock-on-Iron crushing, where material impacts wear-resistant liners or impact blocks, maximizing sand production and crushing efficiency.

    The extremely short crushing duration and high energy density ensure effective size reduction while minimizing over-crushing. This makes the VB Series particularly suitable for fine crushing and shaping applications.

     

    Feeding Modes

    Fully Central Feeding
    All material enters through the rotor center and is accelerated uniformly before impact. This mode emphasizes high crushing efficiency and stable operation.

    Central Feeding with Cascade Feeding
    A portion of the material enters through the rotor center, while the remaining material cascades from the periphery into the crushing chamber. This configuration forms a thicker material bed, optimizing rock-on-rock crushing and significantly improving particle shape for aggregate shaping applications.

    The feeding mode can be adjusted according to material characteristics and product requirements, allowing the crusher to adapt to a wide range of operating conditions.

     

    Main Structural Components

    Main Frame and Housing
